Before you start, prepare a clean, well-lit workspace, with an anti-static mat if you have one, and switch the device off completely. Work with suitable tools and avoid excessive heat, which could damage neighbouring components. Handle the chip by its edges and discharge static electricity by touching an earthed metal surface. Disconnect the battery before handling the ribbon cables, and never puncture or bend the battery.
