Description
This second-generation touch IC is an electronic component designed for the iPad Pro 9.7" (2016). It handles communication between the touchscreen and the device's motherboard: it converts your touches on the glass into information the system can interpret. When it is faulty, the screen may stop responding, react erratically, or show areas that do not respond to touch.
This is a compatible part, made by a third party, not an original part. Before you start, switch off the device, disconnect the battery and work on a clean, clear, anti-static surface. Use an anti-static wrist strap if possible, as an electrostatic discharge can damage a component. Never force the connectors and handle the ribbon cables with care.
After fitting, reconnect the battery and check the screen by testing the touch function across its entire surface, including the edges. If the device overheats or the battery swells, stop immediately and do not use it again. A compatible part may require some adjustment: follow the steps for your model carefully.
