Description
This touch IC is an electronic component used to repair the touchscreen of the iPhone 12 Pro Max model. It handles the transmission between the touch panel and the motherboard, so that screen presses are detected correctly. When it is faulty, the screen may become partly or completely unresponsive, or respond erratically, with areas that no longer react or ghost touches.
This is a compatible part, made by a third party. It makes the repair affordable, but its operation should be checked carefully. Before starting, switch off the device, disconnect the battery and work on a clean surface, avoiding static electricity. Warm the screen gently if needed, without excessive heat, and never puncture or bend the lithium battery. If it is swollen, stop using the device.
After fitting, switch the device back on and test the touch response across the whole surface, in the corners as well as the centre. If you replace a battery at the same time, run a few full charge cycles before judging the result.
