Description
This Wi-Fi / Bluetooth chip is an electronic component designed for the iPad 5 (2017). It provides the device's wireless connection: Wi-Fi networks, pairing with Bluetooth accessories and data exchange with the rest of the board. When it is faulty, you often notice a loss of network, Wi-Fi that no longer connects, Bluetooth that no longer detects your earphones or a connection that drops for no reason.
Before any work, switch the iPad 5 (2017) off completely and disconnect the battery if your model allows it. Work on a clean, dry surface, with an antistatic station or an earthing wrist strap, as static electricity can damage components. Heat the solder joint with moderation and never force the tracks on the board. Use a magnifier to check the alignment before soldering.
Once the fitting is finished, reconnect the battery, switch the device on and test Wi-Fi and Bluetooth under real conditions. If a battery is present, carry out a few full charge cycles to let the system stabilise. Never puncture or bend a battery, and stop using a swollen battery.
