Description
This Wi-Fi / Bluetooth chip is an electronic component designed for the iPhone 5 model. It provides the device's wireless connection to Wi-Fi networks and Bluetooth accessories, such as earphones or speakers. When it fails, the device may no longer detect networks, connect with difficulty or no longer recognise wireless accessories. Before any intervention, switch off the device and disconnect the battery if your model allows it. Work on a clean surface, in a well-lit place, and use an anti-static wrist strap or regularly touch an earthed metal surface to avoid electrostatic discharge. Handle the chip by its edges, without pressing on its components, and avoid excessive heat when desoldering. Do not use the part if it shows signs of impact or a bent pin.
After fitting, reconnect the battery, switch on the device and test the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connection under normal conditions of use. If a fault persists, check the connections and the quality of the solder joints before concluding that the part is faulty.
