Description
This display ribbon cable and battery bracket is designed for the iPhone 7 Plus model. It holds in place the ribbon cable that connects the screen to the motherboard, as well as the battery connector, during the repair. A poorly secured ribbon cable can cause a black screen, a partial display or a touchscreen that no longer responds. The bracket also helps stabilise the battery connector when it is unplugged or reconnected, which reduces the risk of loose contacts after fitting.
Before you start, switch the device off completely and disconnect the battery. Work on a clean, flat surface, using an antistatic tool if possible to avoid static discharges on the components. Keep the screws in a small tray so they do not get mixed up. Handle the ribbon cable by its edges, never by the fine tracks, and do not bend it.
After fitting, check that the bracket is correctly positioned and that nothing prevents the casing from closing. Reconnect the battery only once the rest of the repair is finished, then check the display and touchscreen. If the battery is swollen, stop using it and do not puncture it.
