Description
The SIM tray is the small component that holds the SIM card and, depending on the model, the microSD card. On the Galaxy A5 (A520, 2017), it can wear out, break or jam, preventing the card from sitting properly or the tray from ejecting. This compatible tray lets you replace the current part when it is damaged.
Before you start, switch the phone off completely and remove the case. Use a SIM ejector tool to remove the old tray, then compare the two parts to check the shape, the cut-outs and the position of the lugs. Avoid applying excessive force so you do not damage the motherboard or the slot. Handle the components with care and limit static electricity by working on a clean surface.
Once the tray is fitted, check that it slides without play and closes properly. Insert the SIM card, switch the phone back on and check network detection and, if needed, reading of the microSD card. If the tray does not close properly, do not force it.
