Description
The SIM tray is the small metal or plastic part that holds the SIM card and, sometimes, the microSD card. It slides into the side edge of the phone and must sit firmly in place for the network to work properly. This part, compatible with the Samsung A8 (A530 / 2018), lets you replace a broken, bent or no longer ejecting tray. It fixes the most common faults: a tray that gets stuck, no longer pushes in, lets dust in or no longer recognises the SIM card.
Before you start, switch off the phone and remove the case. Use a pin or an ejection tool to take out the old tray without forcing it. Compare the dimensions and position of the current part with the new one before fitting it. Once the tray is back in place, check that it slides without play and sits flush with the side edge. Insert the SIM card and switch the phone back on to check that the network is detected.
Finally, handle the components with care, as the motherboard and ribbon cables are fragile. Avoid static electricity by touching a metal surface before working. If the device heats up abnormally or a battery looks swollen, do not push on and stop using it.
