Description
The SIM tray is the small part that holds the SIM card and, on some models, the microSD card. It slides into the side slot of the phone. When it is broken, bent or worn, the card may sit badly, no longer be detected or cause the network to drop. This part, compatible with the Galaxy S7, lets you replace a damaged tray without touching the rest of the device.
Before you start, switch off the phone and remove the SIM card and the tray using an ejection tool. Keep the current part to hand so you can compare the dimensions and the shape of the notches. Work on a clean, flat surface with good light. Avoid forcing the tray and handle it by the edges so you do not damage the sealing gasket.
Once the tray is back in place, check that it slides in without play and sits flush with the chassis. Insert the SIM card, switch the device back on and check that the network is detected. If the device does not start, switch it off and check the assembly before trying again.
