Description
The SIM tray is the small metal or plastic part that holds the SIM card and, sometimes, the microSD card of your smartphone. This compatible tray is designed to replace the one in your Galaxy S8 when it is broken, bent, jammed or no longer clicks properly into the chassis. Once fitted, it restores a stable seating of the SIM card and reduces the risk of poor contact or the tray coming out unintentionally.
Before you start, switch off the phone completely and remove the case. Use the SIM ejection tool to pull out the current tray, then carefully compare the shape, the notches and the thickness with the compatible part. To avoid discharge, be mindful of static electricity and work on a clean, dry surface. Never force the tray and do not bend the chassis.
After fitting, check that the tray slides in without resistance and clicks properly into its slot. Insert your SIM card, switch the device back on and check that the network is detected. If the phone does not recognise the card, reinsert the tray and check the alignment again before concluding there is another fault.
