Description
The SIM tray is the small metal or plastic part that holds the SIM card and sometimes the microSD card. It is removed from the side of the phone using the ejector tool supplied with the device. When it is broken, bent or worn, the card no longer sits properly, the network may drop out or the device may stop detecting the card. This compatible part for Moto E40 (XT2159 / 2021) replaces the damaged tray and restores a stable hold for your cards.
Before you start, switch off the phone and prepare a clean, well-lit workspace. Use a suitable ejector tool and avoid forcing it: a tray that resists may be jammed, so check its orientation before pulling. Protect the device from static electricity by working on a non-conductive surface. If the device is hot or swollen, do not use it.
Once the part is fitted, reinsert the cards, switch the phone back on and check that the network and data work. Also make sure the tray slides in and closes without play. If the card is still not recognised, check the condition of the SIM card itself and that the gold contacts are positioned correctly.
