Description
The SIM tray is the small part that holds the SIM card and, sometimes, the microSD card. It slides into the side of the phone and lets you insert or remove your cards without opening the device. When it is broken, bent or stuck, the card no longer sits properly, the network may be lost and ejecting it becomes difficult.
This compatible part is designed for the Redmi 7A. It is a third-party manufacture that matches the tray format of this model. For the replacement, switch off the phone, remove the SIM card, then pull out the old tray using an ejection tool. Avoid forcing it and check the alignment of the new tray before putting it back in place.
After fitting, insert the SIM card, switch the device back on and check that the network is detected. Slide the tray in and out several times to make sure it moves without resistance. Do not bend the tray and do not apply excessive pressure to the chassis.
Tips
- Switch off the phone and remove the SIM card before any work
- Use an ejection tool rather than your fingers or a sharp object
- Check the alignment of the tray before pushing it fully in
- Test insertion and removal several times after fitting
- Never force the tray if it resists, check its direction first
