Description
The SIM tray is the small part that holds the SIM card and, depending on the model, the microSD card. It slides into the side slot of the phone and must stay firmly in place for the network to be detected. Over time it can crack, split or warp, which stops the card from sitting properly or makes the tray difficult to insert. This tray, compatible with the Redmi Note 9, lets you replace the current part when it is damaged.
Before you start, switch the phone off completely and remove the protective case. Use the ejector tool supplied with the phone or a fine needle to open the slot, then remove the damaged tray. Compare the new tray with the old one to check the shape and orientation of the notches before inserting it. Never force it and do not bend the part.
Once the tray is back in place, check that it clicks in without play and that the SIM card is held securely. Switch the phone back on and check that the network and mobile data work. If the part does not fit or does not stay in place, stop and recheck its orientation.
