Description
The SIM tray is the small metal or plastic part that holds the SIM card and, sometimes, the microSD card. It slides into the side slot of the phone and connects the card to the network. When it is broken, bent or worn, the card is no longer detected or the tray no longer clicks into place properly. This version, compatible with the Redmi Note 9 Pro, replaces the current part when it is damaged.
Before you start, switch off the phone and remove the SIM card and the microSD card. Use an ejector pin or a fine tool to take out the old tray without forcing the slot. Handle the new part with care to avoid electrostatic discharge, which can damage electronic components. Compare the dimensions and shape with the current part before fitting it.
Once the tray is installed, check that it slides without play and sits firmly in place. Put the SIM card back, switch the device on and check that the network is detected. If the phone still does not recognise the card, check the alignment of the tray and the condition of the contacts.
