Description
The SIM tray is the small part that holds the SIM card and, sometimes, the microSD card in your phone. It slides into its side slot and should click into place without effort. This compatible part is designed for the Droid Maxx (XT1080, 2013 model). It replaces the damaged tray when it no longer ejects, gets stuck, has lost its seal or no longer holds the card properly.
Before you start, switch off the phone and remove the current tray using a SIM ejector tool or an unfolded paper clip. Work on a clean, flat surface and avoid any contact with the electronic components on the motherboard. Discharge your static electricity by touching an earthed metal object. To be safe, disconnect the battery before handling ribbon cables or internal connectors.
After fitting, check that the tray slides freely and is locked securely in its slot. Insert your SIM card, then switch on the device to check that the card is detected. If the phone does not recognise the card, reinsert the tray and check its alignment.
Tips
- Switch off the phone before removing the SIM tray.
- Use an ejector tool or an unfolded paper clip, without forcing it.
- Discharge your static electricity before touching the inside.
- Check that the tray slides freely after fitting.
- Check that the SIM card is detected after restarting.
Fitting
