Description
The SIM tray is the small part that holds the SIM card and, on some models, the microSD card. It slides into the side of the device and lets you insert or remove the card without opening the phone. When it is broken, bent or no longer locks properly, the card may not be recognised, may fall out, or may stop the device from picking up the network.
This part is a compatible version for the Galaxy S4. It is made by a third party rather than the manufacturer, but it is designed to fit the same slot. Before you start, switch off the smartphone completely, remove the case and use an ejector tool to take out the old tray without forcing it. Check that the new tray goes in straight and without play, then put the SIM card back.
When fitting it, disconnect the battery if your model allows it and avoid putting pressure on the ribbon cables. Do not bend the battery and never puncture it. If it is swollen, do not try to remove or charge it any further. After reassembly, test SIM card detection and network reception before closing the device completely.
