Description
The SIM tray is the small metal or plastic part that holds the SIM card and, sometimes, the microSD card of your phone. It fits into a side slot of the device and lets you slide the card out without opening the casing. This part, compatible with the Honor View 8 (2016), replaces a tray that is damaged, bent, broken or no longer ejects properly.
If your SIM tray no longer locks, gets stuck or no longer detects the card, this part can solve the problem without touching the rest of the phone. However, it does not fix a fault in the internal reader or in the card itself, which should be checked before replacement by testing your SIM in another device.
Before you start, switch off the phone and unplug the charger. Use a suitable ejector pin and press gently, without forcing it. Work on a clean surface, protected from static electricity, and avoid excessive heat. After fitting, check that the tray clicks in straight, does not stick out and that the SIM card is correctly detected before closing the device for good.
