Description
This compatible SIM tray replaces the holder that receives the SIM card on the iPad 6 (2018). It lets you refit the tray when it is broken, bent, jammed or no longer clicks properly into the housing. It only serves to hold the SIM card and its ejector in place: it does not touch the motherboard or the screen.
Before you start, switch off the tablet and insert the ejection tool into the hole in the tray to remove it, then take out the SIM card. Work on a flat, clean, well-lit surface and keep the small screws in a container so you do not lose them. Avoid excessive heat and never force the tray, as the aluminium housing scratches and weakens easily.
Once the tray is fitted, check that it slides without friction and is properly closed, then switch the device back on and check that the SIM card is recognised. If the tray looks misaligned, remove it and start again rather than forcing it.
