Description
The SIM tray is the small metal part that holds the SIM card and lets you insert it into the tablet. On the iPad Mini 1 (2012), it can wear down, bend or break after repeated handling, making the card difficult to fit or remove.
This compatible tray replaces the existing part when it is damaged. It is a third-party manufacture, designed to fit this model. Before fitting, switch off the tablet, unplug it from the charger and prepare a small ejector tool and a clean mat to keep the screws and parts together.
During the replacement, handle the components carefully to avoid electrostatic discharge and never force the connectors. After fitting, check that the tray slides without play, that the SIM card sits correctly and that the tablet detects the network. If in doubt, stop and check the alignment before continuing.
