Description
The SIM tray is the part that holds the SIM card and allows it to be inserted into or removed from the tablet. On an iPad Mini 3, it can become damaged after repeated removals, incorrect insertion or an impact, and the card is then no longer recognised or the tray no longer slides properly. This compatible tray replaces the current part so the SIM slot works normally again.
Before you begin, switch the tablet off completely and remove the SIM card. Work on a clean, flat surface with a suitable ejection tool so that you do not force anything. Take the time to compare the new tray with the current part to check the shape and reference points before fitting. Avoid any sudden handling and keep clear of static electricity by touching a metal surface before handling the components.
Once the tray is refitted, check that it slides without force and locks correctly into its housing. Then insert your SIM card, switch the device back on and check that the network is detected. If in doubt, stop and never force the tray.
