Description
The SIM tray is the small metal piece that holds the SIM card and slides it into the phone. On an iPhone 4S, it can break, bend or no longer click into place properly, which stops the SIM card from being recognised or makes it hard to remove. This compatible tray replaces the current part and restores a working SIM slot.
Before you start, switch off the device and remove the SIM card. Use a suitable ejection tool to release the old tray, then fit the new one, making sure it is properly aligned with the chassis. Avoid excessive force, as the slot is fragile and can deform. The phone's internal components still need to be handled with care.
After fitting, check that the tray slides without friction and that the SIM card is detected when the phone is powered back on. If the phone does not recognise the card, check the orientation and locking of the tray before doing anything else.
