Description
The SIM tray is the small metal piece that holds the SIM card and lets you insert it into the phone. Over time it can bend, break or lose its fit, which makes the card hard to seat or stops the phone from detecting it. This iPhone 5 compatible tray replaces the current part so the SIM card works normally again.
Before you start, switch off the device and insert the ejection tool into the small hole in the tray to pull it out completely. Work on a clean, flat surface and avoid excessive heat. Also discharge static electricity by touching a metal surface before handling the components.
Once the tray is replaced, check that it slides without forcing and that the SIM card is held securely. Insert the card, switch the phone back on and check that the network is detected. If the tray rubs or does not close properly, do not force it: check its alignment before going further.
