Description
The SIM tray is the small holder that receives the SIM card and slides into the side of the iPhone 6S Plus. This part is used to replace a tray that is broken, bent or no longer locks in place properly, for example after a drop or repeated handling. It helps fix faults where the card is no longer recognised or the tray no longer sits correctly in the housing.
Before you start, switch the device off completely and keep it away from any heat source. Work on a clean surface with a suitable opening tool, and avoid static electricity by touching an earthed metal surface. Disconnect the battery before working on any flex cables. Never puncture a lithium battery, do not bend it, and do not use the device if the battery is swollen.
After fitting, check that the tray slides in without forcing and that the SIM card is detected. Then test the network, calls and data. If anything does not work, stop and calmly start the fitting again.
