Description
The SIM tray is the small metal part that holds the SIM card and slides it into the phone's slot. On an iPhone X, it lets you remove and reinsert the card without specialist tools, provided you have the ejector tool supplied with the phone or an unfolded paperclip. When it is bent, broken or damaged, the SIM card no longer locks in properly, the phone stops detecting the network, or the card gets stuck in its slot.
This compatible part replaces a damaged tray without changing the rest of the device. Before you start, switch the phone off, remove the SIM card and place the device on a flat, clean surface. Work in a dry place with good lighting, and avoid clothing that generates static electricity. Never force the ejector tool: too much pressure can damage the logic board or the internal ribbon cable.
Once the assembly is complete, insert the SIM card and check that it clicks into place flush with the chassis. Switch the phone back on, check network detection, then make a few test calls. If the tray does not slide smoothly, remove it and check its alignment before trying again.
