Description
The SIM tray is the small part that holds the SIM card and sometimes the microSD card, and slides into the slot on the side of the phone. When it is broken, bent or worn, it may no longer click into place properly, stop recognising the card, or cause the phone to lose signal. This compatible tray for KEY2 lets you replace the current part without touching the rest of the device.
Before you start, switch off the phone and remove the SIM card using the pin supplied with your device or a paperclip. Work on a flat, clean, well-lit surface, and keep the small screws and components in a container. Avoid static electricity by touching an earthed metal surface before handling the parts. If you need to work near the battery, disconnect it, and never puncture or bend a lithium cell.
Once the tray is fitted, check that it slides without forcing and locks securely into its housing. Insert your SIM card, restart the phone and check that the network and mobile data work. If the card is not detected, recheck the position of the tray and the card before concluding there is a fault.
