Description
The SIM tray is the small metal or plastic part that holds your SIM card and, on some models, your microSD card. It slides into the side of the phone and lets you change cards without opening the device. This compatible tray is designed for the Huawei Mate 8, released in 2015.
This part replaces a tray that is broken, bent or no longer locks properly. It is often needed after a drop, excessive pressure or normal wear from repeatedly removing the card. A damaged tray can also stop the phone from detecting the SIM card correctly. First check that the problem really comes from the tray and not the card itself, by testing the card in another device if possible.
Before fitting, switch the phone off and use the SIM ejection tool to remove the old tray without forcing it. Take care not to damage the sealing gasket if your device has one. After replacement, reinsert your card, check that the tray closes without play, then test reception and card detection before fully reassembling.
