Description
The SIM tray is the small metal or plastic piece that holds your SIM card and, depending on the model, a microSD card. It is pulled out of the device through its side slot and sits back in place once the card is inserted. When it is broken, bent or no longer clicks into place, the SIM card is not read properly or the phone can no longer detect the network. This compatible part for Mi 9T lets you replace the damaged tray without changing the rest of the device.
Before you start, switch the phone off completely and remove the case to access the slot. Use the ejection tool supplied with the repair kit or an unbent paper clip, pressing gently and straight into the small hole. To avoid electrostatic discharge, touch an earthed metal surface before handling the components. If you need to open the device further, disconnect the battery before any work on the ribbon cables.
Once the new tray is fitted, insert your SIM card, switch the phone back on and check that the network is detected. Also test inserting and ejecting the tray several times to confirm it slides without forcing. If the phone overheats or the card is not recognised, stop and check the assembly.
