Description
The SIM tray is the small drawer that holds the SIM card and, depending on the model, the microSD card. It slides into the side slot of the phone and lets you insert or remove the card without opening the device. On a Mi Note 10, a damaged tray can jam, bend after a fall or no longer hold the card properly, causing loss of signal or a card that is not detected.
Before fitting, switch the phone off completely and remove the SIM card. Work on a clean, clear surface and discharge static electricity by touching a metal surface before handling the components. If the device has a swollen battery, stop using it. Never puncture or bend a lithium battery, and keep the temperature moderate throughout the repair.
After fitting, check that the tray slides without forcing and locks securely into its housing. Reinsert the SIM card, turn the phone on and check that the card is detected and that the phone connects to the network. If the problem persists, check the slot again before concluding there is another fault.
