Description
The SIM tray is the small metal or plastic part that holds the SIM card and, sometimes, the microSD card. It slides into the edge of the phone, letting you change cards without opening the device. When it is bent, cracked or broken, the card may sit badly, the phone may no longer detect it, or the tray may refuse to close properly. This model, compatible with OnePlus 8, replaces the current part so the SIM card works normally again.
Before you start, switch off the phone and remove the existing tray with a pin or ejector tool, noting the card orientation. Take note of how the current part sits so you can position the new one correctly. Handle the tray gently, without forcing it, and avoid touching the internal components of the device.
After fitting, insert the tray without forcing it, check that it locks in straight and that the SIM card is properly seated. Switch the phone back on and check network detection. If the tray does not insert or does not close properly, stop and recheck its orientation rather than forcing it.
