Description
The SIM tray is the small metal or plastic part that holds the SIM card and sometimes the microSD card, and slides into the side of the phone. This part, compatible with the OnePlus Nord, is used to replace a tray that is broken, bent or no longer closes properly. It fixes common faults: a tray that no longer clicks into place, sits crooked, leaves the SIM card poorly positioned or is no longer detected by the phone.
Before you start, switch the device off completely and use the ejector tool supplied with your phone, or an unbent paper clip, to remove the old tray. Work on a flat, clean surface, and do not force or twist the chassis. Compare the shape and cut-outs of the new tray with the old one before sliding it in, to avoid inserting it crooked.
After fitting, insert the SIM card, check that the tray closes without play and that the phone detects the network. If the tray catches, do not force it: pull it out and realign it. Keep the device at room temperature during the job and avoid static discharge by touching an earthed metal surface before handling the components.
