Description
The SIM tray is the small component that holds the SIM card and, depending on the model, the memory card. It slides into a slot on the side of the phone. When it is damaged, bent or broken, the phone may no longer recognise the SIM card, or the tray may get stuck and no longer click into place properly.
This part, compatible with the Huawei P40 (2020), replaces the current tray when it is damaged. Before you begin, switch off the phone, remove the case and use the SIM ejector tool to carefully pull the tray out. Avoid forcing it and keep the device away from any heat source. Electronic components are sensitive to static electricity, so work on a clean, dry surface.
After fitting, check that the tray slides in and locks without effort, then power the phone back on to confirm that the SIM card is detected. If the battery is affected by the same repair, do not puncture or bend it, and never use a swollen battery.
