Description
The SIM tray is the small metal or plastic part that holds the SIM card and sometimes the microSD card, and slides into the side of the phone. This compatible tray replaces the existing part when it is broken, bent, stuck or no longer closes properly. Common faults include a SIM card that is no longer detected, a tray that will not eject, or a fit that lets in dust and moisture.
Before you start, switch off the smartphone and insert the eject tool into the small hole in the tray. Press gently and straight, without forcing it, then carefully pull out the tray. To reassemble, place the SIM card in the new tray, aligning it with the notch, then slide it back in without pushing at an angle. Avoid touching electronic components unnecessarily and discharge static electricity by touching a metal surface.
Once reassembled, check that the tray clicks in without play and that the SIM card is recognised. Switch the phone back on and check the network, calls and mobile data. If the tray is hard to insert, never force it: realign it and try again gently.

- Check the orientation of the SIM card before reinserting the tray
- Make sure the tray clicks in straight and without play
- Do not force it if the tray resists
