Description
This compatible SIM tray replaces the holder that takes the SIM card and sometimes the microSD card on the Huawei P9 (2016). It lets you insert and remove cards without forcing them, and keeps good contact with the connectors on the motherboard. When the tray is broken, bent or no longer slides out, it can block the insertion of the card or prevent the phone from detecting the SIM. This part therefore restores normal use of the card slot.
Before you start, switch off the smartphone and remove the case. Use a suitable tray-opening tool and avoid any sudden force. If you need to dismantle other components, disconnect the battery before working on the ribbon cables, and protect yourself from static electricity by touching an earthed metal surface. Work in a well-lit, clean area so you do not lose the small screws.
After fitting, check that the tray inserts and locks properly, without excessive play. Switch on the device and check that the SIM is recognised, then test calls, mobile data and the microSD card if it is used. If abnormal heat or a swollen battery appears, stop the repair immediately.
