Description
The SIM tray is the small part that holds the SIM card and, sometimes, the microSD card. It slides into the side of the device and must stay firmly in place for the contacts to work. This compatible part replaces the tray of the Huawei P9 Lite (2016) when it is broken, bent, stuck or when there is no longer enough play to insert it correctly.
Before you start, switch off the phone and remove the SIM card and the microSD card. Use a pin or a suitable ejector to release the old tray, without forcing it or pressing on the screen. Compare the shape and cutout of the new tray with the current part before fitting it, and protect yourself from static electricity by touching an earthed metal surface.
Once the tray is in place, check that it slides in and out without resistance and that the SIM card is recognised correctly. If the phone does not detect the card, pull the tray out and reinsert it cleanly. Do not bend the tray, keep the device at a moderate temperature during the repair and, if in doubt, stop rather than force it.
