Description
The SIM tray is the small part that holds the SIM card and sometimes the microSD card, and slides into the side of the phone. On the Pixel 2, it can wear out, crack or get stuck, which stops the card from being read or makes it hard to remove.
This compatible tray replaces the existing part when it is damaged. It is a third-party manufacture, suited to the Pixel 2 model. Before you start, switch the phone off completely, remove the case and prepare a SIM ejector tool and a small screwdriver. Work on a clean surface and avoid static electricity by touching a metal surface before handling the components.
After fitting, check that the tray slides without forcing and stays properly aligned with the phone body. Insert the SIM card, switch the device back on and check network detection. If the tray resists, do not force it: check the alignment again before continuing.
