Description
The SIM tray is the small component that holds the SIM card and, on some models, the memory card. It sits on the side of the device and is removed with the ejection tool supplied with the phone. This part, compatible with the Pixel 4 XL, lets you replace a tray that is broken, bent or no longer closes properly.
A damaged tray can block the insertion of the SIM card, cause poor contact or let in dust and moisture. Replacing it restores proper holding of the card and a closure that sits neatly flush with the casing. Before you start, switch off the phone, set out a small tray so no parts get lost, and work on a clean, clear surface.
After fitting, check that the tray slides in without forcing and sits flush with the casing. Insert your SIM card, restart the phone and check network detection. Use the ejection tool gently, without pressing hard, and avoid static discharge by touching a metal surface before handling the components.
