Description
The SIM tray is the small metal part that holds the SIM card and slides it out of the phone. On the Pixel 8, it can break, bend or jam, which stops the card from being read or ejecting cleanly. This compatible part replaces the damaged tray so you can get normal access to the SIM card again.
Before you start, switch the phone off and get a SIM ejector tool ready. Insert it into the small hole in the tray to push it out, then remove the SIM card. If the current part is bent, take your time freeing it without forcing it. Work in a calm place on a clean surface, and avoid static electricity by touching a metal surface before handling the components.
Once the new tray is fitted, check that it slides without play and sits flush with the chassis. Put the SIM card back, switch the device on and confirm that the network is detected. If the tray rubs or does not click into place properly, stop and readjust it before pushing any further.

- Switch the phone off before removing the SIM tray
- Use a suitable ejector tool to avoid scratching the chassis
- Check the alignment of the tray before putting it back in place
- Never force the tray if it resists being inserted
- Check network detection after reassembly
