Description
The SIM tray is the small metal or plastic part that holds the SIM card and, on some models, the memory card. It slides into its side slot and ensures contact with the phone's internal connectors. This compatible part is designed to replace the Pixel 9a tray when it is broken, bent, stuck or when its sealing gasket is no longer in good condition.
A faulty tray often shows up as a SIM card that is no longer detected, a tray that no longer goes fully in or comes out crooked, or excessive play once inserted. Before you start, switch the device off, use a SIM pin to remove the current part and work on a clean surface, keeping the small screws and the gasket aside. Avoid excessive force, as the frame can scratch easily.
Once the new tray is fitted, check that it slides without friction, that the SIM card is properly recognised and that the seal is correct. If the phone shows a SIM error message, restart it and check the card's position again. Never force the insertion.
