Description
The SIM tray is the small part that holds the SIM card and keeps it in place inside the phone. When it is broken, bent or worn, the SIM card is no longer detected properly, or the tray no longer slides in and does not close properly. This part, compatible with Pixel models, lets you replace the faulty tray without touching the rest of the device.
Before you start, switch off the phone and remove the SIM card and the memory card. Use the ejection tool to take out the old tray, then compare the current part with the new one to check the shape, the notches and the colour. Handle the components with care and avoid static electricity by touching a metal surface before you work.
Once the new tray is fitted, check that it slides in without forcing and locks correctly into its slot. Insert the SIM card, switch the phone back on and check that the network is detected. If in doubt, never force the tray.
