Description
The SIM tray is the part that holds the SIM card and, depending on the model, the microSD card. It slides into the side of the phone and makes electrical contact with the circuit. When it is broken, bent or no longer locks properly, the card is no longer recognised, the network drops out or the tray gets stuck.
This compatible part, made by a third party, replaces the faulty original. It is fitted without soldering after switching off the device and removing the battery if the model allows it. Release the old tray carefully, without forcing it, then compare the two parts to check orientation and notches before fitting the new one.
Before fitting, work on a clean surface and use a plastic opening tool to avoid scratches. Protect yourself from static electricity by touching an earthed metal surface. After assembly, insert a test SIM card, check that the tray closes without play and that the network is detected correctly.
