Description
The SIM tray is the small metal or plastic part that holds the SIM card and sometimes the microSD card, and slides into the side of the smartphone. On the Realme 12, it can break, bend or get stuck, preventing the card from being recognised or making it hard to insert. This compatible tray replaces the current part when it is damaged, without touching the rest of the device.
Before fitting, switch the phone off and use the SIM ejector to remove the damaged tray. Work on a flat, clean surface and avoid applying excessive pressure that could damage the card or the slot. Check that the new tray slides in without forcing and sits flush with the body of the phone.
After the repair, reinsert the SIM card, turn the device on and check that the card is detected, as well as the microSD card if you use one. If the phone has a removable battery or you are working near ribbon cables, disconnect the battery before handling and avoid static electricity.
