Description
The SIM tray is the small metal or plastic part that holds the SIM card and, on some models, the microSD card. It slides into the side of the phone and is removed with the ejection tool supplied with the device. This part, compatible with the Redmi Note 4X, replaces a tray that is damaged, bent or broken and stops the card from sliding in properly or staying in place.
The most common fault is a tray that no longer ejects, squeaks or leaves the SIM card poorly positioned. A damaged tray can also cause loss of signal or an unstable contact. Before you start, switch off the phone, remove the case and work on a clean surface, free of static electricity. Use a suitable ejection tool and avoid forcing anything. If the current part is stuck, gently warm the edges with a hairdryer set to a moderate heat.
After fitting, check that the tray clicks into place properly and does not stick out of the chassis. Insert a SIM card and check network detection, as well as the microSD card if your model has one. Then refit the case, making sure no play remains.
