Description
The SIM tray is the small part that holds the SIM card and, depending on the model, the microSD card. It slides into the side slot of the phone and must sit firmly in place for the network to work properly. This part, compatible with the Redmi Note 8, lets you replace a tray that is broken, bent or no longer ejects, a common fault after repeated handling or a fall.
Before you start, switch off the phone and remove the case. Use the ejection tool to open the old tray, then transfer the SIM card and memory card to the new one. Check that the tray slides in without forcing and sits flush with the chassis. Do not try to bend it or push it in by force, as you could damage the slot.
Once the tray is back in place, switch the device on and check that the SIM card is detected and the mobile network is available. If the phone still does not recognise the card, check its insertion direction and correct positioning. Keep the ejection tool within reach and store the old part safely in case you need to check it again.

- Switch off the phone before removing the SIM tray.
- Use the ejection tool supplied with the phone, without applying force.
- Do not bend the tray and insert it straight into its slot.
- Check SIM and network detection after fitting.
