Description
The SIM tray is the small metal or plastic part that holds the SIM card and, depending on the model, the microSD card. It slots into the side of the phone and must sit firmly in place so the network is detected correctly. This compatible part fits the Galaxy S8 Active. It lets you replace a tray that is broken, bent, no longer closes or loses contact with the card.
Before you start, switch off the phone and use the ejection tool to remove the old tray. Work on a flat, clean surface in a dry place at a moderate temperature. Discharge static electricity by touching an earthed metal object before handling the components. Check that the sealing gasket is present and in good condition, as it protects the inside of the device from moisture.
Once the new tray is fitted, reinsert the SIM card, switch the phone back on and check that the network is detected. Slide the tray in and out several times to make sure it moves without forcing. If you notice a fault, switch the device off immediately and redo the fitting.
