Description
The SIM tray is the small metal part that holds the SIM card and, depending on the model, the microSD card. It slides into the side slot of the phone and lets you insert or remove your cards without opening the device. When it is broken, bent or worn, the card no longer stays in place, the phone fails to detect it or the slot no longer closes properly.
This tray compatible with Galaxy S8 Plus replaces the current part and restores normal operation of the card slot. It is a third-party part, offered as an economical solution for the repair. Before fitting, switch off the phone, remove the SIM card and any microSD card, then prepare a clean, well-lit workspace.
When fitting, insert the tray gently, without forcing it, and check that it lines up properly with the chassis. After restarting, test the detection of the SIM card, then insert and remove it several times to check the closing.
Tips
- Switch off the phone and remove the SIM card before any work
- Avoid static electricity by touching a metal surface first
- Do not force the tray: it should slide in without resistance
