Description
The SIM tray is the small metal or plastic part that holds the SIM card and sometimes the microSD card. It slides into the side of the device and can be opened without special tools. Over time it can crack, bend or lose its locking system, which stops the card from sitting firmly or sliding properly into the phone. This compatible tray replaces the current part for a Galaxy S9 and restores a clean, stable fit.
Before you start, switch the phone off and remove the case. Use a fine opening tool and avoid sudden movements so you do not damage the chassis. Compare the new tray with the old one: the shape, the notches and the position of the seal must match. Do not bend the part and handle the device carefully, keeping static electricity away.
Once the tray is fitted, insert a SIM card and check that it is held securely, with no play and no excessive resistance. Power the phone back on and check that the card is detected. If the device does not recognise the card, recheck the position of the tray before doing anything else.
