Description
The SIM tray is the small metal part that holds the SIM card and keeps it in place inside the phone. On an iPhone 16 Plus, it is pulled out from the side of the device using the ejector tool supplied with the phone or an unfolded paper clip. This compatible tray lets you replace the current part when it is damaged, bent or no longer holds the SIM card properly, which can cause loss of signal or a tray that gets stuck.
Before you start, switch the device off completely and disconnect it from any power source. Work on a clean, flat surface away from static electricity, and keep the small screws and components in a container so nothing is lost. Check the alignment of the new tray before sliding it fully into its housing, without forcing it.
Once the tray is refitted, turn the device back on and check that the SIM card is recognised and the network connects normally. Insert and remove the tray a few times to make sure it slides without resistance.
