Description
The SIM tray is the small metal or plastic part that holds the SIM card and, on some models, the memory card. It slides into its slot on the side of the device. This tray, compatible with the Pixel 6 Pro, replaces the existing part when it is broken, bent, jammed or no longer recognises the SIM card.
It is used to insert and remove the SIM card without opening the phone. If the tray is damaged, the phone may no longer detect the network, the card may get stuck or the sealing gasket may no longer do its job. Replacing it fixes these common faults without touching the motherboard.
Before you start, switch the phone off and use a pin or a suitable ejector. Handle the components carefully to avoid static electricity. After fitting, check that the tray slides in properly, that the SIM card is recognised and that the seal is correct.
