Description
The SIM tray is the small holder that takes the SIM card and, depending on the device, a microSD card. It slides into the side slot of the phone and keeps the card in contact. This spare part is compatible with the Stylo 5. It lets you replace a tray that is broken, bent or stuck, and fixes common faults: SIM card not recognised, tray no longer slides in, slot damaged after a drop or repeated handling.
Before you start, switch the device off completely and unplug the charger. Use a suitable ejector tool or an unbent paper clip, without forcing anything. Work on a clean, dry surface, and touch a metal surface before handling the components to discharge static electricity. Never puncture or bend the lithium battery inside the device. If it looks swollen, stop using the phone.
Once the tray is fitted, insert the SIM card, switch the device back on and check that it is detected correctly. Test calls, texts and mobile data. Also check that the tray closes without effort and stays firmly in place.
