Description
The SIM tray is the small part that holds the SIM card and the microSD card and slides into the side of your smartphone. After repeated removals it can break, jam or lose its seal. This compatible part replaces the current tray of the X Power 3 and gives you easy access to your SIM card again.
Before you start, switch off the phone and prepare a SIM ejector tool and a small tray to keep the screws in. Work on a clean, flat surface, protected from static electricity. If you need to open the phone, disconnect the battery before handling the ribbon cables, and never use a swollen or damaged battery. Avoid excessive force and high heat during disassembly.
Once the new tray is in place, check that it clicks in without forcing and sits flush with the body of the phone. Insert a test SIM card, restart the device and check that the network and microSD storage are detected. If the battery was disconnected, let the phone complete a few full charging cycles so that everything stabilises properly.
Tips
- Switch off the phone before removing the current tray.
- Use a SIM ejector tool to avoid scratching the chassis.
- Do not bend or force the tray when fitting it.
- Check the alignment, then test SIM and microSD detection.
- Do not drill and do not use a swollen or damaged battery.
